Pete, Spidey, Doug and my work crew have been still doing the Tuesday ride at OC. We talked about grabbing a bite to eat at Bad Brads after the ride.

I talked to Brad, the owner of the land on which Outlaw Creek Trail is located, and he suggested that more traffic would be good for the trail (agreed) and that he'd welcome riders on Saturday as well as the usual Tuesday evening. So, get out and ride. He has added a gate closer to keep out various riffraff, but mountain bikers are welcome. I guess if the gate happens to be closed, just park near the gate and mosey on in. I will generally be there on Tuesday, and occasionally other days.

Hey yes its fine to ride on Saturday as well. If for some reason I leave the gate closed on Saturday like Steve said, park outside the gate. Its a big entrance. Just be sure to make sure someone (even an oil rig truck) has a path through the gate. Also It may be a pain but if you do park outside the gate etc, leave a note in the viewable window that states you are there for the trail. We have had some random weird people show up at the door and a few mysterious cars parked in side the gate and outside the gate lately. Two of the nearby houses have been broken into in the last 6-8 months so we are just doing what we can to protect ours.

Did some trail repairs today - scraped a bit of sand, added some armoring on the climb after the last bridge, etc. Trail could use some work (sand removal, some repairs to berms, add some drainage channels to get water and sand to flow off of the trail, a bit of "hydro-engineering", etc). I can't be there this coming weekend, but could possibly meet a few interested folks out there on Saturday January 28th, weather permitting. I'll post again closer to the 28th.

New member of okearthbike forums, longtime rider of Oklahoma trails. This is my first discovery of the "OC". It sounds like a ton of fun and I live about 4 miles away. I would love to join up with you guys on your next ride. Could someone please post the time of the next outing where I can sign a waiver and get a tour?

Due to last Friday's rain, no ride at OC this week 2/7/12. I plan on riding at Arcadia, be at eastern end parking lot (Park Office) at 5:30 and bring lights if you'd like to join me.

This spring has not been kind to Outlaw Creek Trail - much rain, perfectly timed has resulted in an overgrown mess. Bryan Wortham and I have mowed for the past two Tuesdays (thanks Pete for keeping our equipment going!), but much more is needed: serious work is needed on the pump track; the trailbed needs to be weedeatered; sand needs to be scraped; more mowing is needed; a few boards need to be replaced; and various other tasks. Pete was out on Tuesday 4/24 trying to get more cleaned up, but it's growing too fast for the three of us alone. We are contemplating closing the trail (or keeping only a portion open) for the summer if the growth continues and we can't recruit some more assistance. If you can help at any time, give me a call or text.

LATEST UPDATE: as of 5/22, over half of the trail is in good shape, mowed, weed eated, and ready to ride. The rest is in various states of somewhat shaggy to seriously overgrown. We're working to get it all back, but it takes time. Any help will be appreciated...give me a call.

It's gonna be HOT, but let's ride some OC on Tuesday nites all summer, starting tomorrow! The trail could use the traffic, it's still a lot of fun, and certainly worth the drive.

How to find:
From NW Hwy and Turnpike, go west to Piedmont then south to Britton (or work your way south and west). From the intersection of Britton and Piedmont, go west to the 3rd driveway on the north side, turn in there (large metal gate with a P on it). Hang a right into the oil well pad and park.
