Bluff Creek Bridge Replacement April 7th.

Postby trailjones » Sat Mar 31, 2012 5:53 pm

We will replace the oldest bridge on the BC trail system next Sat. the 7th. starting at 9am. This the bridge that has been flagged with caution tape for the past week. It is just North of the "Big Stupid Drop". We will need a minimum of six to eight people to help with the heavy stuff. There will be some "amphibious" type stuff so bring your hip boots if you have them. We should have all materials and tools, but if you have a heavy duty cordless drill, then bring it along for backup. The project should require about 4 to 5 hours. Sooner if more people attend.

Watch here for more details as they develop.

Bring your bikes to ride afterwards.

Shane,
Unfortunately I am unavailable for this one too. Another working Saturday for me. :(

Missed you last week at the Draper ride!

Good luck Saturday! I wish I could make it.

I was hoping to get the 6 to 8 people to show up to pull this off, and of course the trail gods came through as always. The guys in the photo, plus Jeff R. taking the photo, and two that had to bail a little early made this happen in about 5+ hours. We even pulled a couple riders off the trail to help with the heavy lifting. All this and only one trip to the ER. After helping with sign in duties at the trailhead, Amy Cooper tripped on some old fencing concealed in the grass and face planted into the trail. The Docs at the ER were able to pop her sholder back in place, but she will be in a sling for a couple of weeks. So keep her in your thoughts and we wish her a speedy recovery.

Thanks again to all that helped make this happen.

Wow. Black Ops Crew. Reminds me of a group in the 60's in the Mekong Delta. BD
